  • Sing & Sauna for Women with Eve Goodman

Discover the power of your authentic voice, through a gentle embodied session of sounding, awareness and breath. Whether you identify as a singer or not, this session is suitable for women who are curious about building a deeper relationship with their voice. We will gather around the fire together and spend some time arriving in the body and exploring our voice from different parts of ourselves. This will be followed by a 50 minute sauna. There is no planned singing for the sauna session, though you are welcome to continue! The sauna session is more of an opportunity to relax and integrate. Our body is our instrument, so let’s take care of it! After the sauna we will get cosy around the fire again, and explore melody and gentle improvisational sounds, lulling ourselves into a deeper sense of relaxation and trust in our own voice. About the facilitator Eve Goodman: I am a singer-songwriter, performer and recording artist. I write and sing in English and Welsh and my work has a strong connection to the place and the natural world, especially the sea. I have been singing and sounding for as long as I can remember and I am currently finishing my album and studying for a Higher Level Diploma in Voice Therapy. My personal singing practice is interwoven with dance, prayer, breathwork and vocal improvisation. I look forward to singing with you.

  • Sea Swimming with Breathwork

A chance to experience the delights of cold water immersion and dynamic breathwork before your sauna session. You will be introduced to the benefits of both breathwork and cold water immersion then guided into the sea by Mary Freeman who is an experienced open water swimmer, life guard and coach. Mary is also a yoga teacher and Breathwork instructor. Her knowledge and experience will help you to get the most out of the session and you will feel supported every step of the way. This workshop is as much about cold water immersion and breathwork as it is an opportunity for Mary to educate you on what to look out at the beach, to make your entry and exit of the sea as safe as possible. To learn more about Marys experience you can check out this link: https://www.facebook.com/226676607996603/posts/682363435761249/?d=n Once you've been in the water the group and Mary can then enjoy a sauna together. This creates an opportunity to ask questions you may have for Mary. This workshop is suitable for everyone, but does require a moderate level of health and fitness. This workshop is suitable for those who can swim 25 metres in an indoor swimming pool. Please advise us of any injuries or conditions that may affect your ability to participate before you arrive by emailing contact@saunawales.co.uk or filling out the registration form. Please bring with you a mat and a blanket for the breathwork which will be outside on the sand. PRECAUTIONS As a precaution, we advise against participation in cold water immersion and the breath control techniques during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions should always consult a medical professional before starting breathwork or cold water immersion. It is essential that you inform us about any injuries that may affect your ability to participate. Where and when we swim is dependent on weather conditions both during and prior to the design. We will only enter the water if it is safe to do so. If you are new to cold water, we suggest that for at least a week before you attend, you end your shower every day with a cold blast to prepare your body and mind. Start with your legs and arms then your whole body. Breathe out slowly and try to relax. Begin with just 30 seconds and build up slowly.

  • LLANBERIS sauna & socials photoshoot

THIS IS FOR OUR NEW LOCATION AT LLYN PADARN / LLANBERIS We are looking for 5 people to join us at the sauna to take some photos and videos that we can use to promote the sauna on our social media channels and the website. Everyone who is joining will receive a £20 voucher as a thank you. We have invited Sam, who is a photographer and videographer to take photos and short video clips of our new sauna in Llanberis. At the start of the shoot, the sauna won't be at full temperature just yet to keep the camera cool. He will take photos of the arrival at the sauna, being in the (not fully hot) sauna and going down to the lake. You'll then have time to properly enjoy the hot sauna before he will take some shots coming out steaming. Sam will direct you for the shoot, but there will also be times where you can enjoy the sauna without interruptions. There are no specific requirements - we just want you to join and enjoy the beach and the sauna and this will show in the video. All welcome :) Find your way to the National Slate Museum and our staff member will meet you at the car park toilets 5min before the session and guide you to the sauna.
